The extensive restoration project was a true collaboration between designer, client, and contractor which took two years to complete. When purchased by the clients, this 8,000 SQF three story Tudor home was bogged down by a lot of dark wood, panels and moldings. While keeping with the original Tudor aesthetic we also needed to brighten it up. Preserving the dark panels and moldings in the foyer and replacing the dark oak moldings throughout the rest of the house allowed for the perfect marriage of both old and new. Switching out the dark coffered ceiling in the dining room and replacing it with a soft white coffered ceiling helped to open the space. From window restoration, to converting a room into a walk-in closet and a full over-haul of this historic beauty, this gem now stands tall in the charming town of Montclair.
